Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 2026
Overview
IncidentFox ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our Slack application and related services.
Data We Collect
When you install IncidentFox, we request access to your Slack workspace to provide intelligent incident investigation:
- Slack Messages: IncidentFox can search and read messages across channels it has access to. This allows the agent to find relevant context during investigations—like finding past discussions about a service, related incidents, or deployment announcements—so you don't have to manually search.
- Workspace Metadata: User IDs, channel IDs, and workspace information to manage permissions and respond in the correct context.
- Investigation Data: Logs, metrics, and system information retrieved from your observability tools during investigations (with your configured permissions).
Why we need Slack access: Like tools such as Glean, IncidentFox needs to read your conversations to surface relevant context. This helps the agent understand your systems, find related discussions, and provide better investigations. We only use this data to help you—never for advertising, profiling, or anything unrelated to incident response.
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used exclusively to:
- Perform incident investigations you request
- Maintain conversation context within threads
- Improve service reliability and performance
Your data is never used for AI model training.
AI & LLM Disclosure
IncidentFox uses large language models to power its investigation capabilities:
- LLM Provider: Claude by Anthropic
- Training: Your data is NOT used to train AI models. Anthropic does not use API data for model training.
- PII Redaction: Sensitive information is automatically redacted before processing.
Data Retention
You control your data. We retain data to provide the service and improve your incident response over time.
- Slack Data: We index Slack messages to enable contextual search during investigations. This index is kept in sync with your workspace and deleted when you uninstall.
- Investigation History: Retained for your reference—review past incidents, generate postmortems, and build institutional knowledge.
- Audit Logs: Action types and timestamps are retained for compliance and security purposes.
- Deletion: Uninstall from Slack to remove your data, or email jimmy@incidentfox.ai for immediate deletion.
